i want a satchel

i can no longer resist the urge to make x-mas lists! i was trying to avoid it because looking that list in the face would be like coming to terms with the fact that i might have a problem. seriously, the list is incredibly long and never-ending and well, sometimes i don’t like to think about how materialistic i can be. but i’m over it. so here is something very high on my wishlist this year: a satchel.

let me start by telling you that my number one splurge would be in a mulberry bayswater, which is technically more like a shoulder tote, but seeing as how i’m not quite ready to drop $950 on a purse just yet, i have taken comfort in the multitude of satchels i’ve been seeing around lately. they have such a simple sophistication and are obviously a classic. i’ve been keeping my eye out in the thrift store, but no luck just yet. so instead, i’ve got my sights set on the much more affordable and fashionable cambridge satchels. i’ll take a batchel (satchel with a top handle) and a music bag, please!

  1. I am loving satchels too and have a Cambridge one on my list. Which color will you go for? I'm between brown and red but of course I don't think i'll be getting anything this year- wah!
    not because I'm bad though
but because the economy situation affected my household strongly this year.
so i will just have to wish for now

  2. i would probably go for black or brown because it would be most practical, but i'm right there with you. doubt i'll actually get one!

  3. I've been trying to find the perfect satchel for myself for quite a while now, but they're too expensive!! (the ones I want anyway) Good luck with yours! :)

  4. Every one looks!!!

I love the look of a satchel bag but not sure how comfortable it would be carrying them around., either way I would own only if I get one as a present!! hehe

I would they would be very practical for work or school but yet stylish at the same time!

  5. i bought a satchel bag before school started … and then i bought a leather backpack off ebay! the backpack is so much more practical than the satchel, but i love it just the same .. even if i havent used it yet! oops.

  6. i too am a fan of satchels. i really need a good crossbody bag roomy enough for a camera or two or toting my external hard drive across campus to the editing suite.

  7. I love these too, especially the boxiness of it. I would like a black or a blue one, me thinks. You should slowly save your monies for a Bayswater tho! I have one in tan and it's been more than a year now and I keep growing to love it more and more.

  8. eee! I am so excited you mentioned these satchels on your blog! I am getting one for christmas, and one of my friends just got the large satchel in purple, and it's beautiful!

And half of the attraction is the pure and beautiful smell of leather!

Oh I really do hope you manage to get one, they are so good :)

I love the blog, as always :)

  9. i love satchels too! i already have a vintage one but i'm always scouring ebay for a larger one…not found my perfect one yet! have you seen the new mulberry alexa bag, which is more satchel like than a bayswater with a long shoulder strap?! i NEED one, but don't think they're available til next year :)

  10. yes, ive been wanting a mulberry satchel myself! the cambridge ones are so cute too..i hope you get one!!! I have a feeling you'll run into a lovely vintage piece.
