it’s elementary

calivintage primary colorsmy two favorite colors these days are mustard yellow and a dark crimson red, though you’d probably never know it since i hardly ever wear said colors. instead, i always gravitating towards every possible shade of blue, from pale as the sky to dark inky hues. it’s definitely been a process collecting more pieces in the bright colors that i love. you probably remember months ago when i was obsessed with finding the perfect red cardigan, and how i haven’t shut up about hasbeens hasbeens hasbeens. i finally have both and i’m just happy as a clam. so what better way than to celebrate wearing some of my favorite things?

and can we talk about hansel from basel? i know i already added them to my spring shopping post, but i just have to mention them again. i discovered the line after reading a post over at fashion for writers and now i’m hooked. i will admit that i have a bit of brand loyalty to my favorite hosiery over at tabio (the 110 denier tights) and wolford (the merino wool tights), but good socks can be hard to come by. which is why i am in love with the pretty designs over at hansel from basel. they are fun and quirky, but never over the top. and they are just perfect for wearing with spring sandals.

cardigan: zara
blouse: bb dakota almond torte top from modcloth
shorts: vintage liz claiborne high rise denim from lola vintage
belt: nordstrom
socks: hansel from basel strawberry top crew in clove brown
sandals: swedish hasbeens super high peep toe in mustard

  1. Never got to say this but… you rock! I'm definitely loving your style.
Now that I think about it, you just might have inspired me to wear the pumps I wore today. We're shoe cousins for the day ;)
    xo

  2. Really love this look! I always love primary colors. The socks and shoes are so perfect together. I really need a red cardigan in my wardrobe, too!

  3. I'm especially impressed at how the colour of your socks, belt & neckline all co-ordinate. That's true dedication right there! And thank you for the sock tip x

  4. Adorable, but aren't you cold? Unless it's a ton warmer in Oakland than SF, it's not feeling too spring-like 'round these parts lately.

  5. So all your awesome Hasbeens outfits are totally giving me inspiration for my new pair! I love the primary colors in this one!

  6. I happen to love those two colors as well, and when I wear them together, I can't help but think I look as thought I should be propped up on a diner booth table. Ketchup and Mustard…get it?

  8. this might be a bit biased (because our haircuts look very similar), but this haircut is my favorite on you. also, those shoes…i want, and not sure if you've worn that top before but i heart it. :)

  9. i knew it. i just knew it. as soon as i wrote a blog post about you and your incredible style, you'd come up with ANOTHER outfit to amaze me.

maybe i'm fashionably clairvoyant. hmm …
