baby erin

after rebecca of the clothes horse recently contacted me to request if she could use one of my baby pictures for this flashback friday post, i realized that i’ve never shared any of my own childhood photos with you. so today i pulled out my little stash of photos to see what i could find. and yes, they were quite entertaining. i love how i basically look like a feral child in these first two photos. for background, i had just managed to get a rather large amount of gum stuck in my hair and apparently i refused to be wrestled down to allow my poor mother to get it out with peanut butter or oil or whatever you’re supposed to do. so yes, she resorted to the scissors!

also, apparently i wasn’t too keen on smiling for photos as is evidenced by a large archive of pictures of me making silly scowling faces or sometimes crying. it was a rare occasion where i would actually cooperate and allow myself to be photographed smiling, but i did find a couple!

and you may note that my hair is blonde in these photos. well, i guess i was one of those rare cases where i was born with blonde hair and it gradually got darker as a i grew older. i don’t dye my hair, that’s just how it happened. to this day, my grandmother still insists that i must dye my hair since she still recalls that my nickname as a kid was “blondie.”

    That made me giggle :)

  5. aww, your so cute.
whats funny was i was one of those 'asian babies'.
i had thick black hair and tanned akin, but now im a complete blondie and have super fair skin.

its funny how it works out.

  6. too cute! I was very, very blond as a young one as well. While my hair isn't as naturally dark as yours, it's pretty dang close. So weird how that happens. Oh, also I was born with a FULL head of dark black hair. Go figure.

  7. So cute! You look just like yourself minus the blonde hair! Wait a minute! Is that a gigantic Easter egg behind you in the first photo! WOW! Hehehe! Your dimple is so cute in that photo! Adorable! Thank you for sharing. :)

  8. these are way cute! I had white blond hair as a toddler, then practically overnight it turned brown. go figure :)

  9. Cuuuuute! The fourth pic bears the strongest resemblance to your current self. Thanks for sharing.

  10. Oh dear me. Those little baby photos of you are ridiculous! Amazing how much you look like yourself (what a comment, right?).

I love the scarf turban, and have been inspired to try something new with my multitude of scarves and bandanas. Perhaps I've also been inspired to clean my closet. Perhaps…. .. . .

  11. Aww…so cute!!!
Hey, your pose on that red dress reminds me of some of your poses in some outfit posts you had,=).

    Super nice!!!

  12. These pictures are amazing!! You were an adorable little girl.

I was blond as a kid too, but that didn't last past my 8th birthday.

  13. adorable. loved looking at the shots.
my dad was born with really light blonde hair and it quickly turned black after a few years. He has two blonde siblings and a redhead sibling and is the only one with black hair other than his maternal grandmother in his entire family line (they are all blondes and redheads). Weird how that happens sometimes!!

  14. I had the same pink phone and was completely obsessed with it!!! Also I was very blonde as a child and my hair is dark now :(

  15. these are the cutest pictures ever, the phone one is my favorite. you look the same except with different hair!

  16. My hair did the same thing – though I lighten it at the moment it's medium brown naturally now but it started out golden blond.

PS: i'm pretty sure I had those osh kosh overalls :) I really need to get my mom to scan & send me some "little me" photos.
