i love the way that even though i only walked several blocks away from home today, my outfit pictures look like they were taken while i was on vacation in some faraway place. perhaps, florida? though i can’t really say since i’ve never actually been there! anyway, i’m just standing in front of lake merritt today. though despite the name, it’s actually an estuary, which attracts a large number of migratory birds each season. we had hoped to get some shots of different birds in the area, but the light outside was a bit harsh, so we sought refuge in a nearby botanical garden.
and i know it’s already been a year and a half since it first came out, but i’m still finding myself heavily influenced by the charles anastase spring 2009 collection. hence, the large vintage glasses and straw boater hat with socks and platforms. sometimes i really like to fix up a simple dress such as this with lots of fun accessories to give it a bit more personality.

I love this outfit!! I can't get enough of socks with sandals either and if you wear another boater hat on this blog, I must have to track one down for myself, even though I know there's no way it would ever stay on my sad had.

I love your glasses :) Are they prescription? I have a "grandpa" like pair that I got from Vietnam and people are always surprised to know that YES they are prescription.
