calivintage zelda sweetwater vintage reproduction inspired swimsuits swim suits bathing suits

a while back, i wrote a post about vintage-inspired swimsuits after getting several requests for some tips on where to find them. i pulled together some pictures of vintage bathing beauties and shared some of what i had found up until that point. but after recently browsing through the purple deer blog, i discovered a collection of vintage-inspired swimsuits that are truly amazing. these incredible swimsuits are designed by zelda sweetwater. and while the price tag certainly isn’t cheap, they are some of the most beautiful reproduction vintage suits i’ve seen out there. my two favorites are the pink strapless jane suit and the white one piece charlotte suit!

i also love that they showcased many of the suits on such a buxom babe! since i personally have fit issues with a lot of the swimsuits i’ve encountered in terms of support, it’s good to know that they can hold up! (though if you need something in a broader range of sizes, i still urge you to check out the selection at modcloth where they have extended sizes for their bathing beauty suit!)

  1. I love this post. I too have been curious and obsessed with the vintage bathing suits! I want one or two…three? :)

  3. thanks for this! I've been on the search for an affordable vintage inspired two piece or one piece… although I'd LOVE to have one of those Zelda's, it would take saving up for months and then summer will be over! but the inspiration was definitely helpful. ;) I'm not buxom up top, but I got a booty and hips!

  4. I got a beautiful retro styled bathing suit from What Katie Did (a UK shop). I posted photos of myself in it 4 posts down (it is on my front page of my blog still) if you are interested in seeing. http://tiedemanntribe.blogspot.com

The ones you posted are very lovely too!!

  5. I found a pretty cute polka dotted one from Urban Outfitters for under a hundred. They are sort of hard to find though for a reasonable price.
