and just like that, i’m back from my short trip to new york for fashion week. this time, i kinda knew that i wouldn’t be able to find the time to blog about all of the happenings while i was there, but i’m kinda glad because that means i get to hang around the house in my pajamas for the next couple of days while i catch up on blog posts and get back to normal. so today i’m sharing with you my absolute most favorite new dress from tba! it’s much more expensive than most of the dresses i wear, but i decided to treat myself to something special, even though i wasn’t sure when i would get the opportunity to wear it. then fashion week rolled around, and i realized that it’s pretty much the perfect time and place for such a pretty piece. i felt a bit like a vintage paper doll walking around in it, but i decided that my short hair and tattoos keep the look from being too saccharine.
so this is what i wore on saturday to attend the rachel antonoff presentation (don’t worry, there will be plenty of photo coverage from the amazing show tomorrow)! from there, i went on a lovely visit to the family affairs studio to play dress up and pick up some lovely new pieces along with rebecca of the clothes horse (that’s right, for the third fashion week in a row, we were joined at the hip)! and we wrapped up our day getting cozy with a nice group of bloggers at the modcloth dress up party. it was probably my favorite day out of the whole trip and i can’t wait to share the rest of it with you.

  1. Dress is so cute & beautiful! It really looks papery :) And the collar – I love collar! Look from knees above is so Peter Pen! :) Sum it up – major love!

  2. I drove through NYC this weekend and thought of you, but was no where in that area at all.

sounds like it was nice for you to spend time with bloggers!

  3. That dress is perfection! Especially with those shoes. I love how you can always make even the sweetest things look balanced out so that they aren't too much so. Your hair and tattoos is what always makes everything so… you!

  4. Saccharine is such a good word, and you're right, your look with this dress is pretty much the best mix of sweet and salty. Speaking of which, how funny is it that Jessica Simpson, of all tacky personalities, should have a line of such cool shoes? Dichotomy at its best, right there!

  5. what a gorgeous, whimsical dress! it's like something out of a fairytale and those shoes are killer. i have absolutely no idea how you walk in them, major props! haha

  6. OMG! the dress looks so adorable in you. I love tha it has a bit of black in the front, Can't wait to see the other pictures of your trip.

  7. Welcome back! Can't wait to see/read more about your NYFW experiences. :)

I love this dress! You're right: your tattoos and shorter hair really help balance out the sweetness of the dress. I especially love how it does show off your ink! :)

  10. holy EFF lady! you look incredible. like, if i was to see you on the street i would have to stop you and just be like "i have to say you have effing incredible style." one of those moments.

hey, thanks for the add to your "more favorites" list! super stoked on that! :)

  11. love love love that dress! it's so cute and vintagey! haha, is that a word? great shoes too, i totally need those, i could use a few extra inches! glad you had so much fun at fashion week, i'm so jealous!

  12. the dress is so adorable, and you're right, your short hair and the platforms don't allow it to being cheesy, but fantastic!
