simply dressing

calivintage: odds and ends
one on particular day during my trip to new york for fashion week, i was feeling a little bit less than stellar adjusting to the time change. so i fell back on this simple formula of wearing big statement sunglasses and big chunky platforms with a cute summer dress. it never fails and it’s easy enough to bring when you’re trying to pack light. although i will admit, i probably packed a little too light this time around. i didn’t even bring a jacket, and it wasn’t nearly as hot as i thought it would be!

so this is what i wore to spend my day at the ifb conference. clearly, i was experiencing the full effects of jet-lag considering that my dress was on crooked the entire day and i think my slip was bunching up in odd places. i didn’t even notice in the frenzy and excitement of seeing so many bloggers together in one room! this is also the outfit that i wore for a guest post featured on what i wore. so go check it out to see the post!

dress: i’m going to decline from stating because it ripped after the first wear!
sunglasses: karen walker
shoes: jessica simpson dany platforms

  1. Oh Erin! Even on an off day, you know how to dress so very well. I'm really really loving those shoes! Sky high platforms? Yes please! Wish I could have been in NYC, hopefully in the Spring! Nevertheless, I'm enjoying your posts.

  2. Oh, no! It's too bad that dress ripped. As soon as I saw it in your WIW post, I wanted it!:)

    I'm glad it was a little bit cooler than expected for NYFW, I was dreading walking around in lots of heat.

  3. You looked so fabulous at IFB! I loved this look. I totally went for the simple thing because of the mayhem and stress that I was feeling pre-NY.

    So wonderful meeting you :) Your tips were so helpful and well spoken!

    XOXO.

  5. Love, love, love the dress…and all your looks. You, via your blog have inspired me to incorporate more vintage into my life!! You look absolutely beautiful. So jealous you get to be in New York right now.

  6. Goodness, that dress is beautiful! You look ridiculously good in it. It's a shame it ripped after, agh, what an irritant. You still looked amazing in it for the day!

  7. Ooh! That dress is really adorable, I'm sorry that it ripped. If you ever feel like getting rid of it though, I'd be happy to buy it from you haha! ;3;

  8. Oh! I love this outfit! It's so clean and simple but yet very chic! <3

    I often forget that "less is more" this was a great reminder, so thanks!
