calivintage: prints charming

i can’t believe that new york fashion week is already over! this is only the third outfit that i’ve shared with you from my nine day stay in new york, but it was just so hectic and busy that i didn’t have enough time to post them while i was there. not to mention the fact that my return home also welcomed a nasty illness that has had me knocked out for the past couple of days. but it’s monday, so i’ve decided that it’s high time i prop myself up in front of my computer to go through the thousands of photos i snapped during my trip and start sharing them! definitely keep an eye on my tumblr blog for more of my photo coverage.

one thing i was up to was having lots of fun getting dressed up. if there’s one time that you can go all out and have fun with your clothes, it’s fashion week. before leaving for the trip, i had been collecting some special pieces knowing that they’d be perfect for new york. two such purchases were this fox print blouse from opening ceremony and this vintage artichoke print skirt i bought at pretty penny boutique. i had no intention of wearing them together, but after an evening of playing dress up, this eccentric outfit materialized and i decided to go for it. i guess you could say that my entire new york trip was all about taking inspiration from an eccentric old maid. it’s been fun mixing things up with unexpected color combinations and silly novelty prints.

hat: vintage fur hat
top: deyrolle for opening ceremony fox print blouse
sweater: asos cropped sweater
skirt: vintage halston artichoke print skirt
tights: tabio 110 denier tights
shoes: jeffrey campbell plaform mary janes
bag: cambridge satchel from modcloth

That blouse is phenomenal – such a cute print!

It’s inspiring to see bloggers wearing “risky” outfits instead of exclusively what’s on trend. : ) All the pieces are so different, but come together so well!

I never knew how cute mixing prints could be, and it’s the colors too. OH, and the hat is ADORABLE.
Can’t wait to see your other outfits, Erin.
