hello sailor

calivintage: donald duck

i can’t believe it’s alread monday! the weekend sorta flew past and ended before i knew it. and i got a late start today, which gives me the feeling that this whole week is gonna be a game of catch up. i’m sure you know the feeling! anyway, this is what i wore on sunday in an attempt to enjoy the sunny (albeit chilly) weather. i had been anticipating a rain storm, so it was nice to wake up to sunny skies, and it was the perfect opportunity to finally wear this darling little sailor jacket that my mom gave me while i was visiting family in southern california a few weeks back. i don’t know if i mentioned this, but she actually gave me boxes full of vintage clothing that she’d been collecting over the past year. she has a serious addiction to thrifting and vintage which i have clearly benefited from!¬†and this jacket is definitely one of the more exciting finds she had managed to accumulate. you all know how much i love a good sailor collar!

dress: alice + olivia
jacket: vintage sailor jacket, gift from mom
shoes: swedish hasbeens braided sky high
bag: j.w. hulme mini legacy bag
lipstick: ysl rouge pur in le orange

Aren’t moms the best? My mom got several broaches at garage sales this weekend and gave them to me yesterday as well. As usual, you make a wonderful looking sailor.

Yes, I am completely in love with this look from head (awesome modern pageboy haircut) to toe (enviable swedish hasbeens) with a lot of goodness in the middle (scalloped hem and sailor jacket). I’m totally jelly.

I would pretty much lose my mind if my mother was capable of thrifting goodies like that without my help and supervision. Well Done mom.
