heat wave

calivintage: heat wave

visiting new york was quite the treat for many reasons, one of them being that they actually have summer over there. i packed up all of my easy summer dresses ready to enjoy the unbearable heat that we so rarely get to experience back home in san francisco. and as a expected, when i arrived back in san francisco last week, i was struck by the pleasantly cool and chilly weather. so when getting dressed both days this weekend, i made sure to layer up and bring a sweater and coat with me as is the custom here, only to discover that the summer has finally decided to come out and play in the bay area! yesterday i got to wear my new chambray dress without a sweater, and it was quite a treat. now i’m just crossing my fingers that it will last until the weekend so i can make my way out to the beach!

dress: dear creatures chambray dress
shoes: swedish hasbeens braided sky high
bag: j.w. hulme mini legacy bag
sunglasses: tom ford nikita
lipstick: ysl fard a levres rouge pur in rosy coral
jacket: asos

  1. I am wearing that same dress right now! I will most likely wear this dress weekly during the fall and winter, I love it, and it looks so great on you!

  2. I’m so glad to see this dress styled by you. This outfit is adorable. I feel that sometimes, even in the heart, a lightweight coat is reassuring!

  3. Needless to say you look fantastic! That such a beautiful dress and I love it together with the jacket and shoes! I wish I can be in San Francisco right now, here in Oslo it’s all about berets, autumn shoes and knitted scarfs at the moment, winter is soon upon us! But that’s fine too :) Gotta love those berets

  4. That dress looks lovely and summery, and even though it was clearly too hot for a coat, the colours are lovely together.
I am not a coat person really, but I just found an amazing 60s check wool coat in an op shop for $5, and I really want to wear it all the time even though it’s bordering on summer here and really far too warm almost all the time…
    Sigh!

  5. Dang, the silhouette of that dress is so great!

Glad to hear SF is warm, Vancouver has been a mixed bag lately, leaning towards showers. Lame sauce if you ask me!
