still kicking around my hometown of redlands for the holiday season. just enjoyed a lovely four day break at my grandma’s house with family eating tons of food and taking an excessive number of naps. i’m not ready to get back to “the real world” just yet, so i’m happy to be staying put in sunny southern california for another week before i have to go back to my normal life in san francisco. since i’m on a mini vacation, it’s only fitting that i packed a lot of very casual and comfortable clothes.
so this is what i wore while hanging around in the area where my aunt and uncle and cousins live in two houses next door to each other on a little dead end street across from the recycling center beneath the freeway off ramp. it’s a forgotten little spot in redlands that has been almost untouched by time as the old buildings decay, and where developers are probably just waiting to get their hands on the lots to build more strip malls and things. i never thought much about it while i lived here, but now when i come back to visit, i feel like i’m seeing the whole area with fresh eyes and i find myself wanting to take a million pictures to preserve my memories there.

Wow this is a lot more photos than usual but they’re all great! Who takes your photos?
haha, yeah. my brother took these photos (usually my boyfriend does) and we took more than usual because i wanted to show the neighborhood. i spent a lot of time there growing up, so it brings back memories!
Lovely. I love the stripes and your satchel!

Great photos. Love stripes.
I’m a big fan of returning to a place with fresh eyes. It’s amazing what you didn’t notice before, or what has changed since you’ve last been there.
yes! it’s what’s nice about vacations, too. when i go back home to the bay area, i will be able to appreciate the scenery a little bit more.
