charlotte taylor fall 2012

continuing down the dark/light path, a storm is brewing at the jamaica inn, the inspiration for charlotte taylor fall 2012. the collection is equal parts mysterious and whimsical with dark yet playful prints in the form of pretty florals, geometric patterns, and birds in flight! taylor wove together the story of jamaica inn written by daphne du maurier in 1939. and while i haven’t read the book, i am now dreaming of throwing on one of these beautiful silk pieces while lounging about reading it! (or perhaps i will have to watch the hitchcock filk adaptation!)

ooh, and one other delight came in the form of the elegant rosalind jana of clothes, cameras, and coffee who modeled the collection! i also highly recommend you swing by the charlotte taylor site to see the lookbook come to life in the form of animated gifs!

  1. Hello Erin,

I love your high quality photos and much of it is eye candy for me. I do have a request that you please look into scaling your images as it takes a really long time to load. It lags in Chrome to the point where I cannot even view your site, and have to use a new browser, and it still takes a long time to load. Anyway, sorry if this seems like whining, it really isn’t. Just a concern, and I do love your blog so!

    1. sorry! i am aware of the slow load issue and have been working on different fixes to help speed up load time. most of my images are scaled to the size viewed on my page (with the exception of these charlotte taylor images, go figure), but it’s actually a ram issue with my server that has been difficult to resolve. every time i increase the ram, i still end up overloading my server due to traffic. i think i will eventually change servers as a solution, but it’s a large task and it’s rather expensive since i would have to hire a tech person to help, so i apologize for the inconvenience!!! but i appreciate that you’re voicing your concern and want you to know that i want to make it better! if you happen to have suggestions for servers and/or tech help, i would love to know of them! my email is erin@calivintage.com

  2. What a fabulous collection–the prints are amazing! I love the animal prints and the vintage hankerchief styled fabrics. Although I will admit that I think a parrot print pant and jacket is a bit much, even for me…

  3. Oh my! I couldn’t picture anyone to model this collection more perfectly that Rosalind did! These shots are breathtaking and the colors and lines of these garments are very charming indeed. I would definitely see you in the mint shirt or the yellow bird skirt ;)
    Ale

  4. this is great, the ultra vivid photography reminds me of fashion shoot a few years ago, i can’t remember who the photographer or what the fashion line was, it had a simple blue background and women with simple clothing holding farm animals. don’t know if you know who that is
