as much as i’m influenced by everything 1960s, sometimes i just can’t help but fast forward a decade or two and get all decked out in ’70s and even ’80s-inspired looks. in particular, i just can’t seem to resist a good pair of high-rise flares. so when dittos denim contacted me and asked if i’d like to put together an outfit featuring a pair of their iconic jeans, it was pretty much a no-brainer. they’ve recently revived a number of styles from their vintage archives, and this particular pair was perfect for pulling on with a soft and stretchy vintage t-shirt and my beloved kork-ease wedges for an easy, retro look. i mean, i’m essentially wearing a t-shirt and jeans, but adding in those vintage elements really help to add interest to a simple outfit. the perfect way to embrace the summer without a ton of fuss.

Those jeans are SUCH a great fit on you – they look fab!

thank you! they’re super soft and stretchy, so they’re quite forgiving on just about anyone! i was hesitant at first because they’re a light wash with whiskering on the front, but they really are super easy and comfortable to wear.

Damn, do you look fine in those jeans! I feel like the high-rise and ultra-flared legs would be so flattering on a multitude of body types! Sometimes, I really do think that it’s best to keep fashion simple and non-fussy, especially in the sweltering summer heat. You always make minimalist, retro ensembles look so chic and cool!

They look so good on you! I had a Modcloth gift cert and those were in my maybe category. I’d like them a whole lot better if they didn’t have that whiskering. But, I should just eat my foot because they look so cute on you.

    • erin (calivintage) July 16, 2012 at 6:39 pm #

no, i understand! i was hesitating for the same reason, but decided to go for it anyway. they’re definitely less “slimming” with the pale color/whiskering, so i think i’ll probably end up dying them dark blue.

They look super cute on you!!!! I like how very 70s these are where they are tight until the flare. The pockets are adorable.

I don’t normally comment but I couldn’t resist telling you how flaming hot you look in this outfit. I mean you always look good. But often your outfits don’t emphasise your ridiculously cute bod. So one tends to forget that DAYUM girlfriend! Just. DAYUM!

These jeans are absolutely adorable and they look amazing on you! I am coveting them like mad but I can’t find them anywhere. Do you have any suggestions as to where I could find them or similar style jeans?
