outfit: lacy days

calivintage: lacy days

all last week was busy and exhausting. there are two ways that you can respond to such a situation: 1) you can go home, feel sorry for yourself, and eat a tub of ice cream in front of the tube, or 2) fuck it! throw all common sense out the window, forget your routine, and just do something different. i opted for the latter. on one such weeknight, i threw on my fancy new party dress, and went out on the town. since the sun was just setting, i took the opportunity to show off said fancy dress with a little photo shoot on the secret stairway near my house, then headed off on my evening adventure. the week was long and busy, but sometimes you just gotta live it up and let off some steam.

these photos were taken for part two of my guest post series over at dahlia uk. you can see my first post here.

  1. ha i dont if it was intentional but you put that killers’ song in my head that start with ‘racey days…’
lovely shoot, like the grainy look of it and the dress reminds me of a top that grace kelly wore in catch a thief – extra gittery points for that :) xx moira

  2. That is just so true! Sometimes the best thing to do to get out of a funk is to step away for awhile and have some fun. I am so in love with this dress! Need to add it to my wish list!

  3. That dress is so darling on you and the details on it is beautiful too! I like how you took a positive approach to some bad days. I hate stress and anything I can do to relieve it is gladly appreciated. Hope you’re having a better week! xoxo

    1. exactly! i had a rough week, but i knew i couldn’t let it get the better of me. so far i’ve got monday under my belt and i’m already feeling more positive, continuing to try to break old routines to make sure i keep myself out of a rut! thank you for the well wishes, lady!

  4. That dress is absolutely gorgeous – I love it! And I’m sorry to hear about your bad week, but I’m glad you put a more positive spin on it by choosing to go out and do something fun :)
