i have to finally admit defeat and accept that it is the official first day of fall! luckily for me, there are plenty of fall lookbooks making me feel better about cooler weather on the horizon. the whitepepper has been consistently putting out some of the most adorable and creative lookbooks since their early days in the asos marketplace. the clothes definitely skew to a slightly younger consumer than myself, but i still really appreciate the cool clothes that they put out. and i can definitely see myself wearing at least a few of their fall pieces. this season they took to the kitchen with silly egg prints and embroidered bean patterns. but save for a few cute dresses, most of the silhouettes are inspired by retro punk looks, with cool bomber jackets and braces on skirts, with a decidedly fun twist.

winter wonderland by the whitepepper

it may not exactly be a winter wonderland in southern california, but i’m still taking tips from the whitepepper’s latest editorial. i ordered the velvet spangle collar dress (above) the moment i saw it with plans to wear it to a holiday gathering while i throw back a few glasses of sparkling cider, haha. it’s such a fun and easy dress with just the right amount of sparkle.

they’re also currently offering free worldwide shipping (lucky for us in the states!) for the next three weeks, which is enough of an incentive for me to go back and pick out a couple more items before the season is over!

i haven’t been doing very much shopping lately. in fact, i’ve been making my best effort to clear my closets and pare things down a bit. but in the process, of course, i discovered that i needed to revamp some of my basics and i found myself scrolling through the whitepepper‘s new spring 2013 arrivals. they have a handful of silhouettes that can best be described as easy basics. the colors and patterns are simple and spot-on and i love that they all have a very carefree, cool sense of humor about them. pretty much all of the things that i love. i’ve already picked up a sailor dress and a couple of smock dresses, but now i think i want one of their signature angel dresses, too! so perfect and breezy for hot summer days. in addition to their uk-based site, you can also shop much of the collection on asos.

a few months back, i started noticing my tumblr and pinterest feeds being peppered with images of beautifully styled outfits. with so many pretty pictures to look at, it took me a while before i finally investigated and discovered the source of these lovely editorial shots: the whitepepper. this uk boutique is part of the asos marketplace, which i’ll admit, i don’t know much about. i gather that it’s a space where small sellers can access an audience and sell vintage, indie, and handmade designs. and if there’s one shop that’s doing it right, it’s the whitepepper. the styling is a bit different than what you find here in the states, but i think that’s what makes it all the more interesting. i haven’t bought anything from them yet, but i have been finding plenty of inspiration browsing through their cool collection.
