if you’ve been following my blog for a while, then you probably know that i’ve been a zappos customer for years. i think i made my first purchase on the site before i was even a blogger, and i’ve been doing this for over 8 years now! so you know i was excited when they let me know about their brand new zappos loyalty program! whether you’re brand new to zappos or have been shopping there for years, it’s free to join and you can instantly start earning points towards perks and benefits like free expedited shipping and early access to sales. earn 10 points for every $1 spent, earn 50 points just for logging in, and earn 100 points each time you leave a product review. the more points you earn, the more rewards you get! and for a limited time, existing zappos customers will get a $15 zappos reward code when they join the zappos loyalty program.

so here we are outfitted in some of our zappos favorites for some fun family photos. i’ve been trying to make a better effort to get photos of us all together, which i have to tell you, is no easy feat! but getting some new early fall clothes in the mail was certainly a good excuse to do it! i’m having a lot of fun putting edie in little vintage dresses with tiny cardigans, while adam is going a bit more practical with sturdy pants and comfy sweaters. but this is california, so you know we all love our sandals, haha! these are some of my favorite classics from saltwaters sandals, swedish hasbeens, and birkenstocks. they all stand up to constant wear and go with pretty much everything. and i love the convenience of being able to buy all of these brands in one place with free shipping, free returns, and excellent customer service.

maternity style: see comfort differently with born x zappos

calivintage_0124

i’m in the home stretch with only two weeks left of this pregnancy! in fact, this might be the last look i post before the bebe is born. and when it comes to getting dressed, i would have to say that this is the hardest part. fitted clothes are no longer an option, so i’ve been wearing lots of flowy dresses. and while i’m not experiencing nearly as much swelling with this pregnancy, i’ve still been opting for comfortable, breathable sandals most of the time. so i was especially excited when my friends at zappos asked if i would be interested in trying out a brand new pair of born sandals. believe it or not, i’ve actually never owned a pair of borns, despite the fact that i’ve only heard good things about them. i guess i hadn’t considered that a “comfort” shoe would equate with something fashionable. but once i started browsing through the selection, i realized that they really do cover all the bases in terms of style. these super minimal sandals are surprisingly comfy thanks to a cushioned footbed, which is especially helpful while i’m carrying all of this extra weight. and i know they’re going to come in handy once the baby is here, since i know i’ll be walking a ton.

and as always, zappos is a breeze when it comes to ordering shoes. they offer free shipping that almost always comes even quicker than expected, they have a 365 day return policy, and their customer service is top notch!

maternity style: holiday comforts with zappos

calivintage_com_0225

hard to believe it, but i’m already more than halfway through my pregnancy! it’s not my first time celebrating the holiday season while pregnant, but if there’s one thing i’ve learned from the past, it’s that you gotta dress comfortably! but of course, i still want to look nice for the few holiday parties and new years celebrations that i will be attending, glass of sparkling cider in hand. so this year, i partnered with zappos to shop my holiday looks using the style room. it’s basically a one-stop shop for all of your holiday outfit needs, and everything is listed in tidy categories based on your personal style preferences. for this simple holiday look, i went for a mix of classic and contemporary. but since my belly is just starting to emerge, i was a little bit unsure of what size to order. the nice thing is that they have free two-day shipping and free returns, so when the first dress turned out to be the wrong size, i was able to quickly make an exchange with plenty of time before christmas and new year’s.

now, i know this outfit isn’t your traditional holiday outfit, but i’m not exactly going to be hitting up the club. my christmas eve will be spent with family, most likely unwrapping a present or two and stuffing my face with tamales. christmas day is also a pretty casual affair around here, and new year’s eve will be similar. i’ve invited a few people over for the celebration, but we’ll probably be turning in a little early with a nearly two-year-old in tow. but that’s alright with me! there’s no right or wrong way to celebrate the holidays, and i’m totally ok with going super low-key this year.

outfit: devoted to denim with hudson jeans

calivintage_0087

when it comes to my personal style, you know i love an easy vintage dress, but nothing beats a good pair of jeans. when you find that perfect pair of dark wash skinny jeans, you pretty much know they’re going to be the hardest working staple in your wardrobe. they’re universally flattering, and they fit into any wardrobe, regardless of your style. they’re like the fashion thread that binds us all together. so of course, when i teamed up with zappos + hudson jeans for my latest outfit post, picking these jeans was pretty much a no-brainer. they’re made of a super soft and stretchy viscose-denim, so they’re insanely comfortable, and they’re the darkest shade of inky blue, which is one of my favorite colors. i really have to hand it to hudson: they have cool british roots, but with an ease that captures the whole laid-back california vibe.

so far this fall, i’ve been really obsessed with comfort, so these were an especially good match with a super warm and cozy oversized sweater. and i went with a totally neutral palette because who says you can’t wear black and blue and even brown all together? that happens to be one of my favorite color combinations. but of course, you could just as easily dress the whole thing up with a flowy top, fancy heels, and a bright pop of lipstick for a night out on the town.

outfit: #foreverforward with zappos + hudson

calivintage_com_0086

you guys, it’s finally fall. as in, it was cold and rainy yesterday and it was actually necessary for me to wear jeans and a sweater. when i woke up this morning, it was 39 degrees outside. it’s downright chilly. so yes, i am quietly rejoicing while pulling all of my knits out of boxes and planning what outfits to wear while the weather is cool. and luckily for me, i recently joined forces with zappos to pick a few pairs of hudson jeans for the season. i was instantly drawn to their ’70s-inspired fall collection, and placed my order for this pair of insanely soft mia jeans. they arrived in two days with free shipping, just in time for me to pull together this comfy look on the first chilly day of the season.

and they totally satisfy my desire to swath myself in warm and cozy clothes while still looking pulled-together and vintage-inspired. i’ve talked about this before, but for me, even if i’m just wearing jeans and a t-shirt, i still always try to add an element of interest to my look. i tend to be a bit of a minimalist, so instead of piling on lots of accessories, i usually like to play with interesting shapes and silhouettes instead. the slim fit of the jeans keep the boxy sweater from being too overwhelming, the heels add height (and another little nod to the past), while the hat balances out the shape of the flares. it’s an easy outfit formula that i’m definitely going to be revisiting a lot this fall.
