even though it’s hard to imagine it right now, just last week we had a few days of fall rain. it actually caught me off guard, and got me thinking about getting a proper pair of rain boots. then just yesterday, one of my tumblr readers asked me for recommendations on rain boots. more specifically, she wanted to know if i had any styling ideas for a particular pair of l.l. bean hunting boots.

i just so happen to have found the exact same pair of hunting boots at the local thrift shop last year for only $10, and have yet to wear them. so i was particularly interested in trying my hand at styling an outfit around them. this of course, got me thinking about different options for rain boots this fall. below is my little list of favorites i’ve found so far:
loeffler randall rain bootie, aigle johdpur boots, loeffler randall rain boot with back zip, aigle jumping boots, vivienne westwood anglomania ankle boots, l.l. bean maine hunting boots.

The LL Bean Maine boots are classics. I've had a pair since I was a kid. Used them as snow boots too!
i want a pair of duck boots so bad! we have a mud pit in front of our house every rainy season and they would be perfect…just have to start saving :)

oh the grey loeffler randall zipped boots are very elegant – such an unusual colour for wellingtons, I think they are very classy and would go with loads.

Didn't you do a little field trip outfit post with your duck boots? I remember thinking "wow, I wish I looked that cool when I went camping."
My rain footwear MO involves two pairs of booties specifically designated as Rain Shoes, meaning I don't care if they get totally ruined/wet… I supplement those with my combat boots, laceup boots, boat shoes, and rainboots. So the upshot is… I don't have any on my wishlist because I already have too many already!
That outfit is perfect for a rainy day like today. I think even better though is some flannel pajamas, a blanket, and chocolate chip cookies!

im obsessed with my duck boots! honestly I'll wear them with just about anything because they are so comfy. I think your styling ideas are wonderful though, sporty and still stylish. im hoping (kind of) for an early snow so I can wear them!!
I love the simplicity of classic Wellies. However, they're too expensive for me, so I just have a pair of black and gray-flannel look-alikes from Target. But they're warm and snuggly and perfect for sloggy trips to the mailbox.

Those Loeffler Randall booties are so cute! Rain boots are one of those things that I consider a necessity, but have yet to find a pair that I really like because they look like, well, rain boots. You've provided some great picks here!
