outfit: little tienda

i’m gonna go ahead and say that this is my spring look. super high rise pants because, yes, i’ll be wearing this style to the grave. i don’t care if low rise comes back. i’m old now so it’s mom jeans 4 lyfe. and this blouse is basically the standard by which all other blouses will be compared. puff sleeves? ruffles? ’80s vibes? check, check, and check!

and actually, i should talk more about this blouse because i’ve got a whole lot of things to say about it. for starters, it’s pure nostalgia because it looks exactly like the blouses that my mom wore around the time i was born in the ’80s. i can also expand on that and say that basically every woman had this blouse, including the most iconic princess diana. there was this whole young edwardian/laura ingalls wilder/prairie girl thing going on at that time, which is making a huge comeback, and i couldn’t be happier about it.

if you’re interested in more of the same, keep an eye out over at little tienda. their southern hemisphere fall 2018 collection is out any day now, and a little birdy told me they’ll be serving up even more ruffles and puff sleeves like this!

clare v. spring 2016

when it comes to handbags, clare v is definitely one of my favorite designers. every season, she comes out with a fresh crop of minimal handbags that are never short on style. for spring, she introduced plenty of her signature french-inspiration alongside mini versions of some of her classic handbags, along with a good dose of fun prints and interesting textures. my favorite is probably the round sisal alice bag. it seems like the perfect upgrade from my smaller round canteen bags and simple sisal totes from seasons past. and i am always smitten by the fun designs on her simple flat clutches.

clare v. fall 2015 lookbook

i know i’m jumping ahead a little bit here, but i came across the new clare v. fall 2015 lookbook while browsing pinterest last night, and i couldn’t wait to share. i’m pretty excited about the new spring collection, especially this tennis print fannypack, but the fall collection is hitting all the right notes for me. fortunately, their bags really are timeless, and seasonless, for that matter. meaning that you really can’t go wrong.

clare v. x steven alan

earlier this summer, clare v. and steven alan teamed up for a cool photoshoot featuring some of the designer’s offerings available at steven alan stores. i don’t know much about the shoot, but i can tell by looking at the photos that it was shot in and around the clare viver boutique in silverlake. after years of coveting her classic messenger tote, i finally got one a few months back. and ever since, i’ve found myself lusting after so many of her minimalist designs. that and i now want to copy that exact look above. so much good.
