halloween time

just thought i might share some of the images that have been floating around in my head (thanks to the internets…) during this spooky season! i’m getting prepared for a busy few weeks, but it’s the kind of busy where it’s fun and exciting and you almost forget how exhausting it can all be. i’ve got some cool surprises and interesting things that i can’t wait to tell you about, but in the meantime, i’ll share what i can.

a peek into the calivintage calendar:

1. halloween parties! i haven’t quite decided what i’ll do or where i’ll go, but i have my halloween costume all lined up. since this most festive occasion is happening on a saturday night, that means we get two whole nights of parties. i think i might need to figure out a second costume.

2. meeting up with some bay area bloggers soon. i’m really pleased that i finally came out of my cave and decided to start meeting these lovely people. darling darling will be visiting next week for coffee and thrifting, and after that i hear there will be a nice dinner with nobody knows you, going west, and late afternoon. i expect that some more ladies will confirm before then. if you live in the bay area, you should totally email me! it’s always fun to talk shop with fellow bloggers.

3. for those of you in the bay area, indie industries is hosting a fashion. art. dance. event at space gallery in sf on thursday night. you should come out and support local artists and designers, have a few drinks, and dance with me. i also hear there will be free gift cards and giveaways.

4. i’m getting a little trim today. so so happy to have met the wonderful shannon dean. thanks to him, i have experienced a sharp increase in compliments from strangers with this cute new bob he’s given me. i look forward to many more good hair days.

5. movie night! me and my boyfriend have been having people over to watch scary movies on wednesday nights. we’re gonna watch the descent tonight. i’m scared!!!

  1. Oh these images are cool! Thanks for sharing.

They make me excited for Halloween even though it's really not a big deal here in NZ!

  2. sounds fun! I need a Halloween costume! I am sad I can't make dinner with you girls! Christina told me about it, but it is my bf b-day and we are celebrating in the city! Have fun!

  4. I love all the Halloween images :)I've never seen that picture of Judy Garland before.
Sounds like you have some fun events planned, enjoy!
Can't wait to see what your hair looks like after the trim.

  5. That third pic is my absolute fave out of this whole spooky set. The haziness and the muted colors just make that girl look so ghost-like! At first I thought it was a life-like scarecrow because her head is terribly small, but she doesn't like very scarecrow-ish to me. I suppose she just has a small head.

That whole paragraph was probably confusing, but it's half past midnight and my filter is starting to wear thin.

Eek, I'm so excited to be meeting you next week!!

  6. Ahh, love that last image!

What are you going to be for Halloween? I hope we get to see pictures! I am lazy and usually go as a panda every year :)

I don't know if I am cool/established/prolific enough to come to a blogger meetup, but if you think I will not be a total lame-o there I might make the trek to the city to join you guys! I haven't met any other Bay Area bloggers yet…

  7. Exciting things! I may be moving to the bay area in the next 6 months, so it's cool to know that so many neat people (and bloggers) are there!

I think I have finally figured out my halloween costume. Halloween is my favorite of holidays. Yay for dressing up!

  8. these are awesome pictures !
we dont celebrate halloween that much in Indonesia . but I'd really love to get dressed up for halloween :D
    it looks very fun..

  9. Halloween looks like so much fun! Too bad it's not really a big thing in Australia. Your blogger meet up sounds great, it should be fun!

  10. I wish I lived in your area, sounds like so much fun over there.
How was the scary movie? I love these pics, esp. Judy Garland! xo

  11. I just saw a rad collection of vintage halloween photos on a Livejournal community, newestwrinkle if I'm not wrong. I lost the url but I'll post it when I find it!
