if you noticed the silence this past week on the blog, i apologize! i went off to visit family over the holiday weekend and came back with a bit of a bug that kept be down enough that i wasn’t even checking my email. it was a blessing and a curse as i am now desperately trying to scramble and catch up before the week ends! but now that i’m finally back on my feet, i thought i’d share the new spring 2013 lookbook from new york-based in god we trust. the entire collection is made and designed right in new york, and this season was all about capturing the essence of summer in the city. owner and designer, shana tabor says:
“as any proper new yorker knows, half the fun of summer is finding ways to get out of the city—whether it be to a beach, a lake house, or upstate for the weekend. honestly, sometimes you just want to get the hell out of town.”
i may not be a new yorker, but i think we can all relate with that desire to hit the road for the weekend. and what better way to do it than in easy silhouettes decked out in silly novelty prints like over-sized sunglasses and world-travelling kitties, or in crisp, clean colors with cool cut-outs and interesting proportions? you can shop the entire collection right here.

I think the last two mauve outfits are my absolute favorite. I love the whimsical, quirky blue illustrations and patterns on that perfect dusty rose silk background!
