calivintage - ozma of california

my summer wardrobe this year has been all about really easy linen pieces, like this simple jumpsuit by ozma of california. i really love the way you can completely change the look of it depending on how you feel. wear it with a belt for a slightly more vintage-inspired vibe, or wear it loose and oversized for a more beachy, laid back look. it’s basically perfect because those two looks pretty much sum-up the way i’ve been feeling about getting dressed lately. resort vibes forever, because this is california after all!

but more importantly, i’ve teamed up with this san-francisco based brand to offer you the opportunity to win a $100 gift card towards anything in the shop! if you’re not in the mood for a jumpsuit, there’s a really sweet crop top and skirt combo, or an incredible pair of high rise wide leg pants. enter below!

  1. Love that jumpsuit! I checked out their IG and omg! the short romper/jumpsuit that is all cotton- that will keep me fairly cool in my Massachusetts heat wave- I will take one please! I am totally crossing my fingers for this. I don’t know how you find the coolest clothes, and brands! I love the all natural fiber usage. Thanks for the chance and thanks for introducing me to yet another awesome company~!

  2. Love all your natural fabrics, Erin! Both new and vintage. I am such a fabric/ natural material/ textures girl, and dress both myself and my kids in merino, silk and linen. I am kinda obsessed with breathing fabrics, and love their natural properties, like how they don’t hold on to odors and germs. I find lots of inspiration on your blog! Thank you! Ina

      1. Being Norwegian wool always came in handy! But even now, on vacation in Florida at my husbands grandparents, I’m in a wool/ silk night gown. Air conditioning and breastfeeding really calls for some extra warmth. Needless to say- they think I’m nuts down here! And, yeah. Alpaca.. I see your baby dressed in merino a lot- is that mainly indoors? I’m also curious as to how you dress her when you carry her in a sling?

        1. yes, mostly wool indoors or when we go on walks in the mornings when it’s still cool out. at home, she is often only wearing her diaper in a sling, or else just a simple onesie when we go outside. it’s been so hot here lately that we can hardly even go outdoors at all!!

          1. My babe is only 2 months old, and I had doubts about traveling with her so early. (We flew out of Norway a little over 2 weeks ago) My fear was in part to never be able to leave the house with her. Luckily this last week we’ve been able to go for little walks. Before we left I found little pure silk t- shirts for her and my son. They really are great for any climate. The baby get so upset in sweaty cotton onsies, and inside with air on, the onsie quickly feels ice cold. Can’t remember the name of the brand, but I will let you know when I find one with the tag intact:) They also make raw silk pjs in beautiful colors. Bourette silk. Keeps her cool in the heat and dry and warm inside the house! Feels like the softest and most loved fabric ever! Thanks for responding, Erin! Hope you are feeling better and not taking on too much. It’s so easy to do!

  3. Hi Erin! The bourette silk pjs are from Alkena, a Swiss brand. You can find it in this web shop: http://www.littlespruceorganics.com/sichuan-alkena-silk/
I highly recommend looking into it! The bourette silk is, the way I understand it kinda like a waste product from the silk industry. It is not shiny and smooth, but has a knobby texture. It has all the qualities of silk though, and I know you are familiar with those..;) The fabric looks loved and often washed. It gives the clothes a “loved” appearance. This sounds super geeky, I know.. But from one textile geek to another.. ;)
