nanushka spring 2017

calivintage - nanushka spring 2017

i know we’re kind of getting midseason over here, but with summer vacation upon us, i’m just getting started! the spring 2017 collection by nanushka has been popping up in my pinterest feed lately, and i love it so much! the brand had never really been on my radar before, but it was started in 2005 by designer sandra sandor and has grown to over 30 countries worldwide. so it’s about time that they caught my attention! all of the collections are designed in budapest and produced in europe.

the latest collection really caught my eye because it has this very fun, touristy vibe to it. it’s playful, yet still sophisticated with lots of interesting and offbeat elements. it’s the type of wardrobe i wish i could pack for my imaginary summer getaway. probably my favorite piece is the woven dana dress above, and i’m also really enjoying the straw hats and wicker handbags for that fun and carefree vibe.

lykke wullf spring 2017

calivintage - lykke wullf spring 2017

it’s funny, just last week i was talking about how i try not to pay too much attention to trends, but the flipside is that sometimes i feel like my style can be so very reserved. which is why i’m finding myself so drawn to these fun looks from the lykke wullf spring 2017 collection. i’ve been an admirer of the brand for the past several seasons, but just barely placed my first order. i decided to take a risk and go a little bit out of my comfort zone with these linen ruffle pants! because sometimes you need to have a little fun with things, and that’s exactly what la-based designer jemma swatek serves up.

lotfi spring 2017

calivintage - lotfi spring 2017

i’m on the hunt for a new handbag, so i thought i’d share one of my recent new favorites: lotfi. founded in san francisco in 2011, the brand was born from designer sharareh lotfi’s desire for a minimal, unfussy carry-all that was practical without being too boring. which is exactly what i’m looking for in a bag! i just love the casual vibe of the clean cotton canvas and corduroy textiles. and while you can never go wrong with something like the sierra bag in cocoa, you can also have a bit of fun with the bright lime green coro bag if you prefer to make a statement.

you can shop lofti directly. or find them at garmentory where you can get $20 off your first purchase using my referral link!

the new spring 2017 collection by hannah kristina metz has slowly been trickling in. so for those of you who have not yet feasted your eyes on the looks, here is a peek! the collection was inspired by “a room with a view” so there are lots of romantic, edwardian details like big puffy sleeves and sheer details, but it is not just some literal interpretation. hannah has such a wonderfully creative eye and she’s brought in so many special details. the embroidery, the fabric covered buttons, the sheer textiles. none of these things are easy to make, and yet, here is an entire collection with all of these fun details!

calivintage - Power Of My People SS17 Look Book

the new power of my people spring 2017 collection is out! they have a great selection of shirting for both men and women in beautiful summer weight fabrics and easy cuts. i’m excited to see that they brought back my favorite linen friend shirt in the wayward fit because it was one of my favorite shirts in the heat of the summer last year, and i can’t recommend it enough! i’ve already pulled it out of storage and it’s only gotten softer since washing and wearing it.

it’s officially spring, and i’m already falling behind on sharing all of my favorite spring collections! as you know, i’ve been a really big fan of esby apparel for several seasons running, and their latest spring 2017 collection is high on my list of favorites. this austin-based brand was founded in 2014 by stephanie beard, and has continued to grow, with a selection of garments made in the usa using quality fabrics and thoughtful design. i’ve picked up two of their best-selling jumpsuits and they are easily some of my favorite pieces. everything is designed with ease and comfort in mind, without ever being boring. they experiment with shapes like cropped tops and wide legs, long dusters and versatile dresses. everything can be washed and worn from season to season, so you never feel like you’ve invested in something that will go out of style. you can shop their online store, or you can use my link below:

lauren winter spring 2017

calivintage - lauren winter spring 2017

spring is in the air and i’m looking at the latest lauren winter collection for inspiration. this season, she’s introduced the most beautiful shades of rose and peach, in addition to her classic japanese indigo double gauze cotton and neutral shades of hemp and linen. i love the philosophy behind the brand– that clothes should be comfortable while still being interesting. and of course, sustainability is a big part of their ethos. in addition to sourcing fair-trade textiles, they also use sustainable fibers like hemp, organic cotton, and linen to offset their carbon footprint. even the packaging is 100% recycled.

but all of that aside, the collection alone is absolutely beautiful. you know how much i love a good jumpsuit, so it’s probably no surprise that i’m dying over the rose-colored cove jumpsuit, inspired by 1930s beach attire complete with a rope tie waist. it is definitely very close to the top of my spring wishlist. or if you want something a bit less flashy, the cove top is just lovely.
