my nyfw: lauren moffatt fall 2012 presentation

as you know, i’ve been a huge fan of lauren moffatt for some time. and while i’ve been lucky enough to visit her studio to preview her collections a few times, i’ve always wished she would have a proper presentation! so you can imagine my delight yesterday when she shared her fall 2012 collection in two little class rooms at an old abandoned school. i snapped a few photos and shared them on the modcloth blog today, but i got so many that i just had to share the rest of them here!

“lauren moffatt’s fall 2012 collection is inspired by the innocent and classically undone style of a schoolgirl. the collection, with its timeless color palate and buttoned up silhouettes is effortlessly chic with just a tough of mischievousness that lurks behind every schoolgirl’s peter pan collar and pleated skirt.”

as with all of her collections, it was all about the details! my lens isn’t the best at capturing super close-up shots, but hopefully you can still spot some of the intricate lace, textured fabrics, and pretty silk prints in addition to interesting necklines and unexpected cut-outs all expertly styled by martha violante.

please note that all of these photos were taken by me. please only repost with proper credits!

  1. great photos! i love the lady in the mustard pants the most, what awesome style. fantastic dresses too!

and i kind of hate to say this, but i kind of want to be reassured i’m not alone in thinking it? so i’ll say it: does anyone else get a slightly porny feel from the shot of the model sitting on the desk? it could be just because she looks a lot like sasha grey to me, or because the “bad student” is such a horrible porn cliche… but mostly it made me laugh.

  2. oh my god i love the prints and the yellow!!!!! in my dreams everyone dresses just like this!!! so in love! genius the way the collection was presented too!

  3. Such a lovely collection. I have been dying to see this collection ever since I saw bits of it on Instagram! It did not disappoint! The details are so stunning and I love the blouse that buttons up the back. This collection is amazing! Great photos! Thanks for sharing!
