with all of the gloomy weather we’ve been having this spring, it’s hard to imagine that summer is right around the corner! but looking at photos of awesome vintage swimwear and browsing for vintage inspired suits is certainly getting me in the mood! i’m sure some of you have seen these vintage photos before, but for those of you who haven’t, they’re all by the photographer nina leen for life magazine in the 1950’s. i recently found them via my vintage vogue.

  1. I just love the last black one from (modcloth?) but how do you buy a suit online and know that it will fit? you can't return it if it doesn't? eek! great post though.

  6. Vintage inspired swimwear = YES!! Have you seen Beyonce's new music video, Why Don't You Love me? – The song is ok, BUT the video, styling, & outfits – I'm sure you'll love it cause I'm super obsessed with it.

  14. Agreed on the weather comment. I feel like at least over on the other side of the bay it gets a bit more sunshine. In San Francisco it has been cold for days. And even when it is sunny, it's been so windy! I am so desperate for summer weather!!

    Cute shorts, though! I've been thinking of getting those in black… do the zippers stay well zipped? The last thing I want is my shorts unzipping while I walk around

  21. i haven't even purchased a swimsuit this year yet, but I really want a vintage one…or at least vintage inspired. vintage swimsuits are so much prettier and classier than the skimpy modern ones produced today.
