behind the lens: festival style at outside lands

calivintage: festival style at outside lands

over the weekend, i had the opportunity to attend outside lands to shoot festival style in collaboration with free people. i spent three days with julia, their senior writer, wandering the festival grounds in search of cute girls sporting chic festival style.  if you venture over to the free people blog you can see my photos from day one, day two, and day three of the festival.

but as a little bonus, i actually managed to snap so many photos that i was able to save a little set to share with you here as well! i read in the news that there were over 200,000 people in attendance at the festival. and it was certainly fun to have the pleasure of people-watching for those three long days, so here are a few more looks that caught my eye among the crowds.

  1. that girls skirt with the big ole pocket is lust worthy…and i love that tying of the sweater on the last femme fatale…might have to steal these looks

you have such a great eye! its not “HEY LOOK STREET STYLE…EXPEN$$$$IVE DEZIGNER CLOTHES, SUPER SKINNNIIIIEEE EDITORS, YOULL NEVER LOOK THIS STREET”

    loves it

    1. yes, you can read my mind! for me, it’s much more fun to see what the kids are wearing and how they’re being inventive and interesting with their own personal style regardless of their budget. and i love observing all of the counter-culture trends that swell up from the bottom and eventually become pervasive in the fashion world.

  2. Haha thanks for taking my picture that day! My big-ass pocket skirt has never gotten this much love and affection in its life.
