april showers

well, almost. it’s kinda hard to believe that there is apparently a big storm on it’s way, especially after that incredible weekend. i was all over the bay the past couple of days and the highs peaked at around 78 degrees. but today? well, it’s cooled off quite a bit and we’re getting ready for more of those famous april showers. i’m obviously obsessed with my hasbeens, so yeah, i’m gonna keep these babies on my feet until the rain actually hits. then i’ll have to switch them out for a pair of rain boots.

and i must say, this little chambray dress has come in handy so far this spring. i got it knowing that chambray was definitely one of my spring essentials, but since i cut my hair, i’m less keen on strapless numbers and low necklines. not that i was ever so hot on those styles, but now i feel inclined to decorate my decolletage with high necklines and pretty collars. which is why this little eyelet flutter sleeve blouse is a perfect layering tool for underneath my many strapless dresses. and it adds a little touch of romance.

  1. Every time I see you wearing this dress, I say to myself, I really love this dress. It always looks perfect on you!

  2. I love the coat you paired with this!! Just says Euro chic to me.

(I took pictures on my roof this afternoon and thought about you the whole time!!!)

  3. So jealous of your Swedish Hasbeens. Checked but they are out of my size!

I also love your color palette, blue and yellow are great spring colors!

  4. I am not feeling that good in strapless dresses and there's probably only one in my closet..but layered over a cute top? I have to try this out. You're such an inspiration, I can't get enough of your cute outfits!
And I love how you belted the trench over the dress..chic :)

  5. Adore this look, that shirt is super cute and looks great layered under the dress. And I'm still loving those sweet sweet hasbeens.

  6. What a cute little frock! I'm loving chambray like crazy, too…I've got a little heap of chambray in my sewing room just waiting to be made up into a dress.
I really like the way you layered the dress with the blouse. I'm always a little reserved about wearing strapless, so that is a great way to get around it. :)

  7. I always love the look of shirt is dress cause my arms are too defined, so like hide them a bit.

I love your version!! sweet look!!!

  8. Gosh, Erin, you are the cutest. And btw, this is what happens when I'm without internet for seven thousand years…I didn't even know you got your hair cut! It looks great!

  9. I love the layering. I typically stay away from strapless dresses, but seeing the way you styled this one, that's not something I have to do anymore! So inspiring!

  10. You´re not taking off your mustard clogs, dont you??? I´ll buy them if you keep wearing them, because I LOVE THEM!!!!!!!!!

  12. I'd be interested to know how this combination fares during a normal day.

Does the blouse poof out of the top and need to be tugged back down ? Is it secured underneath to keep it in place?

  13. I just love the color combos you put together. Even though this seems simple, the layers really make the colors stand out. Love that dress and trench.

  14. This is an adorable dress, indeed.

I just took a peek at Dakota Collective's website and was amazed with how pretty (and affordable!) everything is on there.

  15. You are adorable! I love the way you've styled the blouse!

The blouse was something from my own closet that I didn't wear enough. It really needed a new home, and it's definitely found it. Don't you love that feeling?
