calivintage around the web

calivintage on lemondrop blog

the folks over at the aol lemondrop blog recently contacted me and asked me about the top 10 things i can’t live without this spring. this season, i’ve been very deliberately planning out my favorite looks and trends, so i jumped at the chance to share some of my picks! i must say, there is something very pleasing about making lists, and this one is no exception. so definitely go check it out and tell me what you think about my top spring items.

in other news, i was recently interviewed by beauty and the feast and offered a few of my beauty tips and tricks and revealed that besides being a blogger, i’m also a certified pastry chef!

i was also featured on one of my favorite online vintage boutiques, bows and bandits in a little street style section. they picked one of my outfits and offered some cool vintage options for styling up something similar. it was definitely an honor to be featured on such a cool site!

i also wanted to give a little shout out to style sample magazine. i was included in their great coverage of the blogger conferences that happened during fashion week. in addition to an article on their blog, you can also find my picture on page 9 of the online mag. very cool!

and last but not least, was also interviewed by jasna over at style scoop. check it out to find out why i started blogging and to read some of my advice for aspiring bloggers.

calivintage in 7×7 magazine

today i am excited to share a little magazine feature about me and some other lovely san francisco bay area bloggers in 7×7 magazine! it’s a local san francisco lifestyle magazine, so while you wont be able to run out and pick up a copy unless you live in the bay area, they have a really great website where you can catch the feature online. just click here to find out about my favorite spring trend and a little tip on being cheap and chic. also, get a look at some of the other great bloggers featured in the article, including our great photographer for the feature, jt from our local street style site, the sf style!

calivintage in n.e.e.t. magazine

two days of press in a row, but i just had to show you the latest issue of n.e.e.t. magazine! i’m featured in the n.e.e.t. people section with a little show & tell. and as you can see from the photo, i decided to show off my vintage boater hat that i scored on ebay for $10 last year. if you’re having trouble viewing the text here, go ahead and visit n.e.e.t. magazine and flip to page 225.

but don’t forget the rest of the magazine! there are some other really awesome surprises. among them, my blogger friend in real life, diane of darling darling has a massive 24 page spread! and anja of clever nettle shares a scrapbook from the 1930’s for show & tell. this issue is blogger heaven!

calivintage on vogue italia

just wanted to take a moment to mention that i just discovered my picture featured on vogue italia! while in new york during fashion week with chictopia, we stopped by bryant park to take some photos. of course, a new york trip just wouldn’t be complete without getting stopped on the street to get your photo taken by a street style photographer. and for vogue italia, no less! i’m pictured here alongside fellow chictopia 10 winner, chelsea, and one of my favorite bloggers, rebecca of the clothes horse!

and since i do love that coat so much, why not show you a bigger shot of what i wore to bryant park that day:

calivintage on glamour.com

such excitement! one of my outfits managed to make it’s way onto the digital pages of glamour.com, this time in a feature about winter fashion: 11 ways to beat the winter-wardrobe blahs. not only that, by i am in a gallery of pictures alongside some of my favorite bloggers: rebecca of the clothes horse, joelle of the owls are not what they seem, kyla of blue collar catwalk, christine of my style pill, katy of kansas couture, lucrecia of fashion is poison, keiko of keiko lynn, and jessica of what i wore! how cool is that?

and because i absolutely loved that particular outfit so much, why not take the opportunity to post it again? in fact, i really should pull that jacket out and wear it again!

wearing:
vintage aztec jacket, gift from mom
vintage dress, also a gift from mom
little heart tights, tabio
platform ankle boots, payless

calivintage in zoe magazine

just a little something to brighten up a gloomy tuesday. i just found out that i was featured in the italian magazine, zoe. to be perfectly honest, i can’t remember if they interviewed me for this, and i actually don’t know what the article says! my italian friends will have to translate for me.

in other press, calivintage was also listed as a latina blogger you should meet over at the tiki tiki blog. you should definitely check it out if you’re interested in discovering new latina bloggers!

and i was the blogger of the day over at viva fashion blog back in december.

weardrobe 100

i was totally gonna do an outfit post today, but then i realized i was much comfier in an outfit that i’d already worn on the blog before. such is the way on a lazy sunday. so instead, i will look back and reminisce over outfits of the past, like the ones featured in this super cute online magazine put out by weardrobe featuring the weardrobe 100 best looks of 2009. i am honored to be featured alongside so many other fashionable ladies.

and i know she already said something similar on her blog, but i have to say it was a nice little touch to find my photo right beside katy of kansas couture. she has incredible personal style and i am a huge fan of her blog. work it!

oh, and just for fun, one of my outfits also made it’s way to the weardrobe front page as well. aw, i feel special today.

calivintage on modcloth

what a nice surprise on my first day back home after the holidays! my most recent outfit is featured on the modcloth blog! who says this powdery hue is only reserved for the springtime? i think it’s perfectly lovely for the winter and it’s (probably) what i’ll be wearing for my birthday party on january 20. so go check it out!

anyway, i’m a huge fan of modcloth, so this is quite an honor! i think i might have to blow some of my christmas money on a new pair of shoes from them right now…

i’m gilty

hi guys! i’m not quite back from my vacation, but i finally got the chance to stop in for a moment to tell you about my feature on the gilt groupe blog wearing a wool herringbone steven alan skirt from gilt. they were kind enough to call me up and do a little phone interview about my thoughts on shopping and style, so you should definitely check it out! i am such a huge fan of that website that i have to keep my browsing to a minimum just to protect my poor wallet! and if you aren’t a member of the site, you can sign up with my invite code to gain access. such good sales!

in other news, i’m still in southern california with family, sans internet connection most of the time. i promise to answer all of your emails and inquiries as soon as i get back on dec. 30th! but for now, i’m going to go on a little field trip to remix vintage shoes in l.a.! if you haven’t heard about them, i highly recommend that you check out their website. they have the most incredible selection of vintage repro shoes ever. i guess i know where my christmas money is going…

ok, i’ll be back soon and i hope you’re all having a nice holiday!
